Choto Rec Center Room D

March 2, 9, and 16

9-11am

SEX, DRUGS, AND MINUETS: The life and times of King Louis XIV.  Visit the France of one of the longest-reigning monarchs in history (72 years!)  Learn about the wars, the mistresses, the scandals, the economic life, and the building of the great palace at Versailles.  The court of Louis XIV was viewed as the mecca of luxury and exquisite taste, and was emulated by virtually every other court in the western world for over two centuries.  It’s also the era of colonization into the “New World”, so learn why we are speaking English instead of French today.  If you have visited Versailles, hear the back-story of the fascinating man who created it and see behind the mask of the Sun King.

If you have participated in any of Jackie Curtiss’s other TVU classes, then you know you are in for a treat!  No one makes history come alive like our Jackie.

There is a $15 tuition for this three session course payable to TVPOA.
